Emma Head
I graduated from the University of Teeside (UK) in 2005 with a degree in Sports Therapy. The core focus of the degree was soft tissue manipulation to improve performance and recovery. Since graduating my main focus has been on clinical massage therapy, helping the individual to repair, recover, and learn new strategies to get back to the healthiest they can be.
I am always looking to improve my knowledge base, and have also gained qualifications and am experienced in manual Lymphatic drainage, pregnancy massage and relaxation Massage.

I graduated from Otago Polytechnic with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Massage and Exercise Level 7 in 2023. Prior to this I completed my level 5 Diploma in Wellness and Relaxation Massage.
During these studies I acquired a vast range of skills and techniques ranging from relaxation and moving towards therapeutic and remedial application. Having worked with the Otago Nuggets during the 2021 and 2022 seasons and being a passionate sportsman myself, and currently still involved in rugby with the Green Island Rugby club and previously involved in basketball as well as athletics.
My key strengths as a therapist are recovery mixed with relaxation through techniques of trigger point release, myofascial release, deep tissue and active/passive stretching.
